The merger created a natural point to define a clear and unified identity that communicates their hybrid model, ambition and way of working, while visually separating them from the sameness of their competitors.

The process began with a brand sprint to define Layer’s long-term direction. Together, we clarified their purpose, target audiences and positioning. At the core was their hybrid model, combining consultancy and agency services in one partner. This became the strategic foundation for a brand built to express flexibility, ambition and a smarter way to grow.

Visually, the identity leans on retro tech references, inspired by a time when tools were built for purpose and design served a clear function. Dithered textures, system-like graphics and a modular logo give the brand a tactile, engineered feel that reflects structure, precision and human intent. A restrained color palette and simplified graphics tie it all together, creating an identity that is both timeless and distinct.
